  • When Adobe famous for great graphic design software introduced Adobe Creative Suite 3 a few years back it was set to revolutionize the way in which graphic designers, web designers and professional artists used their computers. In fact the impact was supposedly so big that Apple computers which already ran many of Adobe’s products had a huge sales boost with a new version of the software suite because it could now run properly on the redesigned Apple machines with Intel chips.

So when Adobe contacted me about a month ago to check out Adobe Creative Suite 4, I was juiced, pumped and excited. Not because I am some crazy graphic design guru, but because I knew that this piece of robust software was going to be even better. You see, I’ve been using Adobe products for at least 10 years now and each iteration gets better and better. Besides all the things we’ve come to expect from like improvements to Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign my package, Design Premium also featured Dreamweaver, Fireworks and Flash. Most of the improvements are too technical for me to go into but suffice it to say the software relies more heavily on the power of your hardware specifically your video . Of important note is the ability to open a series of software programs in the suite and have access to them through a series of tabs. This makes integrating your workflow that much easier. The programs themselves now have more similar menu structures. With emerging platforms like mobile becoming increasingly important CS4 is packed with applications to help you design specifically for emerging formats. Of course Adobe is high on their AIR platform and the new suite allows you to design applications for it as well.

If you’re into design or just enjoy experimenting with innovative sofware you should check out Adobe Creative Suite 4 in its various incarnations.
